Lavazza Launches New 100% Coffee Capsule Tablì

Tablì, the innovative system designed to offer a new coffee consumption experience, made its public debut yesterday. A breakthrough not only for Italy’s Lavazza coffee group, but for the industry as a whole, the Tablì system – which consists of a 100% coffee tab and a specifically designed machine with a cutting-edge delivery system – introduces a new product category in the world of coffee, in the form of a solution that didn’t exist on the market until today.

Even in the most challenging periods, we have always continued to invest in research and development. In our 130th anniversary year, we’re ready to raise the stakes again with this innovative system that opens up a new product category for us – a tab made of 100% coffee – in the strategic single-serve segment,” said Lavazza’s CEO, Antonio Baravalle (pictured).

Tablì is the first 100% coffee tab developed by Lavazza following the 2020 acquisition of Italian startup Caffemotive and its ‘tab’ concept. This led to creating a complete tab and machine system with new technology to manufacture the tabs and an industrial-scale project that guarantees consistently excellent quality.

The single-serve segment is a strategic component of the global coffee market and has reported steady growth in recent years. Circular economy solutions are a development factor in the segment, and against this backdrop, Tablì joins Lavazza’s other products in the home consumption market: ground coffee, beans, capsules, and pods.

The presentation of Tablì will be open to the public from April 6 to 13 as part of Milano Design Week 2025, with the site-specific installation, Source of Pleasure, created in partnership with Brazilian architect and designer Juliana Lima Vasconcellos and located in the courtyard in Palazzo del Senato, home of the Milan State Archives.
